A handbill for a nineteenth century performance of UNCLE TOM'S CABIN presented at Peet's Opera House. A number of the cast members were regulars on the "Uncle Tom" circuit in the mid to late 19th century. Edna Chapin was well known for her portrayal of "Little Eva" and other well known actors include J.W. Bartino and C.E. Beyerle.

Beyerle later managed "Burke's Uncle Tom's Cabin Co." that was a traveling show that was more of a circus than a play. The Burke show was touted as "the largest in the world", and performed well into the early 20th century. This orange handbill or program is printed on thin paper and measures 8 1/2 by 4 inches. A small loss in upper right hand corner, otherwise fine. An interesting piece of history.
