An exceptionally rare spoon by John Williams, Alexandria, Virginia, circa 1795-1800.

Trained in London, England, Williams worked briefly in Philadelphia before settling in Alexandria in 1795. This 5 1/2 inch teaspoon is identical in form to a larger spoon shown in the catalog "Three Centuries of Alexandria Silver" pub. in 1994. Condition of this piece is near pristine with a strong maker's mark.
