A seven inch ladle by Johnson & Reat, Richmond, Virginia.

This partnership worked from 1804 until the death of Reat in 1815, and is one of the earliest items of Richmond silver I have offered.

The maker's mark is the second mark shown in Cutten's "Silversmiths of Virginia" and can be seen on page 143.

This piece good early form and is in excellent condition. A rare Virginia maker.
