John Adam, Alexandria, Virginia
A 14 inch Ladle by John Adam of Alexandria, Virginia. Adam worked in Alexandria from 1799 until circa 1840.
The ladle is stamped twice with his maker's mark which is identical to the one shown in Cutten's book on Virginia Silver. Monogram is "J.E.W." in period script. Bowl shows some use and a little minor bumpiness, but does not detract from this great early form.
A desirable piece of Virginia history.
$2000.00
This early form ladle is circa 1810-20.
