An American Sterling Silver Sugar Spoon with the lead of "Liberty" along
with interesting bright-cut engraved work and twist handle.
This sugar spoon is about five and one-half inches long and weighs about an
ounce troy. My opinion is that it was produced about 1876 for the nation's
centennial, and likely made by Duhme of Cincinnati, although the piece is
simply marked "sterling". The twist handle is somewhat typical of Duhme's
work and was popular in the 1870s. I would be interested to know if anyone
has seen another piece in this pattern.
