A 6 1/8 inch coin silver sugar shell by Horton & Rikeman, Savannah, Georgia. This partnership of silversmiths began in 1850 and lasted until 1856. This piece is in excellent condition and shows a monogram " "MCC" in period script. The maker's mark is identical to the one illustrated in Cutten's book on Georgia Silversmiths. This is the first piece that I have seen by this partnership.
