Frederick Marquand, Savannah Georgia, circa 1825.

A set of eight coin silver knives with maker's marks as shown in Cutten's "Silversmiths of Georgia". Solid silver blades are about perfect, some minor bumps in the hollow handles. One knife has an almost indistinguishable repair where handle joins blade. Length 7 1/2 inches. Early coin silver knives are extremely scarce, especially from the south, where they were used only by the most wealthy families.
