Daniel M Williams, Winchester, Tennessee

A seven inch ladle with nice curved handle. Maker's mark is identical to the one for Williams as shown in Caldwell's "Tennessee Silversmiths".
Known to have worked there circa 1860, I believe that the style of this handle reflects more of an 1840's form, and further research will reveal that Williams was working as a silversmith earlier than is now known.
A truly rare piece of Tennessee coin silver.
