A coin silver sugar shovel made by John M. Smith, Nashville, Tennessee, c. 1835.

This 5 1/2 inch piece is in excellent condition and the maker's mark is identical to one shown in "Tennessee Silversmiths" (Caldwell) pub. 1988. A very scarce form by a scarce maker.
