A rare 7 1/2 inch ladle by Hamlet Hansbro (Hansbrough), working in Lexington and Shelbyville Kentucky in the 1830s. Little else is known about him except that he was born in Shelby County and worked for a time in the above mentioned towns. An extant watchpaper with an advertisement for Hansbro's shop in Shelbyville indicates he was working in that city. Very few items marked by him are extant. This ladle is near pristine and with a strong mark.
