A coin silver cup (beaker) by Asa Blanchard, Lexington, Kentucky. Blanchard worked in Lexington from 1807 until his death in 1838. This nice, heavy example stands just over 3 1/4 inches tall and is rather heavy at nearly five ounces troy. Exceptionally fine condition with only slight signs of use. A small bottom rim bump is shown in the photos for the sake of accuracy. It has been nearly a decade since we have had a cup this nice by Kentucky's premier early silversmith.
