A fine 7 1/2 inch ladle by Asa Blanchard, Lexington, KY, circa 1825-30. This piece exhibits nice, heavy weight. The form of the handle is typical of Blanchard's work and the maker's mark is one of his several known "AB" marks as shown in the Boultinghouse book on Kentucky silver. Superb condition as the photos show.
