A five inch sugar shovel by Samuel Bell, Knoxville, Tennessee, circa 1830. This little piece has unusual ridges in the bowl, rarely found but not unknown in other pieces. The handle style is typical for Bell and the maker's mark is the same as shown in Dr. Caldwell's book on Tennessee Silver. A rare item by this maker.
