Old South Silver, Georgetown, KY

A 8 1/2 inch coin silver tablespoon by Alpheus W. Bascom, Maysville, Kentucky, 1830s until his death in 1845.

Alpheus was the brother of the famous Methodist Bishop and Preacher Henry Biddleman Bascom, and also the brother of another silversmith, Hiram B. Bascom, who later worked in St. Louis, Missouri. -Interesting family.

This is a nice heavy tablespoon in fine condition. The name "Ryan" is engraved on the handle in small script. This is a nice example from Maysville.

$125.
