Agrilcurtural award cup from Ray County, Missouri, circa 1850.
3 5/8 inches tall, heavy, and in good condition, with only a few shallow bumps. Made by R&W Wilson of Philadelphia, it seems that the agricultural society in Ray Co. ordered a number of these cups as awards for their county fair. I have seen at least one other Wilson cup so marked for this organization. Fair awards are scarce and desirable, and are an interesting collecting field. A nice piece of Missouri history.
