Harvard-Yale Athletic Gold Medal-1920

Awarded by the Harvard-Yale Track Athletic Association, this solid gold medal was given to the winner of the 120 yard Hurdles, and dated 1920. Slightly large that a US ten dollar gold piece as seen in the photos, this piece has about the same weight. The $10 gold coin weighs just under a half ounce of pure gold. I suppose this medal, if 14K would be a bit less than that in gold content. Ribbon and clasp are in excellent condition, and the medallion is pristine.

I have never seen another of these early Harvard-Yale pieces.
